PLEASANT VALLEY MUTUAL WATER COMPANY  2019 BOARD NOMINEES

(Posted November 2018)

PAUL DEBUSSCHERE

I have been a resident in the Camarillo Heights since 2011, and served as a director of Pleasant Valley Mutual Water since 2014. I have been involved with water issues for over twenty years through PVMWC and my agricultural operations. I currently serve as director for Oxnard Drainage Distric #2, and was a past director of the Ocean View Municipal Water District which served agricultural and domestic users in Oxnard. I have experience with shallow and deep water well facilities and pipeline similar to what conveys water to our homes and businesses here in Camarillo. I respectfully request to serve as a director, and look forward to representing you, the shareholders, for the upcoming term.

regards,

Paul DeBusschere

JAMES GRAHAM

20 years PVMWC member, 25 years Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, various positions, mostly Public Relations with a focus on Water Reclamation, Water Conservation and Bio solids Composting.

I could write a book, as could the other incumbents of our experience. Bill, Ed, Marilyn, and I are also Veterans of the Army and Navy.

WARREN (BILL) MANZER

My family moved back to Camarillo Heights in 1942 when I was five years old. My family lived on Mesa Dr. My wife, Raelene Manzer taught at Camarillo heights school for 30 years. We raised our two sons on N. Loop Dr. In 1977, at the age of 40, I was asked to join the board of directors of PVMWC. Many of the forty-two years I have been selected to be president by our board members. The board has overseen the grant to bring the large pipeline from the upper tanks, the addition of two metered turnouts from the Calleguas Municipal Water District to help guarantee a water supply, replacement of older and inadequate supply lines and upgrades to our wells, modernization of data on shareholders which is continuing with “smart meters” (for ease of reading meters and detecting leaks) plus updating our billing systems (for tracking usage charges and service call responses), and development of the iron and manganese removal systems (this is half of a ground water desalinization system). The desalinization (reverse osmosis) plant development plans started in 2013. The design plans were completed in 2014 so we could apply and then receive approval for a grant for 75% of 3.2 million dollars. Our desalinization project is connected to the city of Camarillo desalinization project through a mutual brine line. We are working with the city on a conditional use permit and environmental impact report to complete the project

MARILYN RODGERS

My name is Marilyn Rodgers. I became a member of the board earlier this year after another member of the board resigned shortly after the election. After about eight months on the board I’ve learned quite a bit, but there’s so much more I want to learn. The board is active and dynamic. The situation with our water supply and demand is constantly changing as are the regulations put in place by local and state authorities. I want to stay involved and continue to help PVMWC move forward with projects that will help us keep our water supply environmentally safe and affordable. I encourage community in the PVMWC and attendance at meetings. This is our water!

EDWARD SAXEY

My general background by education and experience includes engineering and management. This has allowed me to positively contribute to issues brought before the board during the time I have been a member. I am a long time resident  in the district, and support the many improvements planned for increased service while minimizing the cost impact to our shareholders.

MELINDA TAWEEL

As a landscape designer, working on drought tolerant water harvesting designs throughout Ventura County, I have developed a keen interest in water conservation, and management. I am a Camarillo Heights resident, who has served previous directorships at an HOA, and a preschool. I would like to share the knowledge I have gained of water wise land use, water harvesting, and responsible grey water use, as well as learning what water management looks like on a larger scale. Please consider my application for the Board of Directors.

April 2018 Update on Board Members

Thanks to Dr. Michael Williams

The Pleasant Valley Mutual Water Company Board of Directors thanks Dr. Mike Williams for his dedicated service as a director. He completed a term for a director who passed away and Mike was elected annually for three more terms. He came directly from clinic hours to participation in our monthly meetings. He added much stability to PVMWC.

Welcome to Marilyn Rodgers

PVMWC Board of Directors recently appointed Ms. Marilyn Rodgers to the Board. Marilyn was interested enough in Camarillo Heights water to put her name in for election at the PVMWC Annual Meeting. Marilyn is an Iraqi War veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division and presently is a physical therapist at the VA outpatient offices in Oxnard.
